Before starting your outreach, it is important to be mentally prepared for it. You need several contact rounds to get a high response rate from travel brands. Nobody wins a war in only one battle! Travel brands are very busy people, which means many of them will not respond at first.
Like any sales process, this is a game of probability: the more you try, the more you get!
That is why you should always think about funnels.
We will make the following assumptions for a campaign:
- 25% of emailed travel brands will respond.
- 30% of travel brands that respond will agree to work with you.
Let’s take a look at these two scenarios. Scenario 2 sent 80 more emails than Scenario 1. This should probably mean a few hours of extra work to achieve. However, when you see the results at the bottom of the funnel, you’ll see it's worth it.
- Always put more opportunities into the top of your funnel
- Do not be frustrated if you don’t get too many responses - this is normal!
